Life is nothing but a lesson

Someone recently asked if there is a lot to learn in life.

My answer - Yes, there is a lot to learn in life. Even Albert Einstein said it:

"The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know."

The more I learn, the more I know that I have more to learn!

You will never know everything, but that should not stop you from being curious. The more you learn, the more you know about the things you don't know. Let your curiosity run wild and explore life on your terms.

When you're young, you have the idea that you know everything in life. When I went to college, I thought I knew everything and was ready to get my degree and embark on the corporate world.

As a student, I would find creative ways to cheat the exam, skip homework or find creative ways to not read the assigned books. I cheated my way through school. Not proud of it now that I dwell on the past, but at the time, I thought I was rebellious.

The big guy upstairs played me!

Once I got my degree in marketing, supercharged to go into the corporate world, only to land a job in the Higher Education industry selling textbooks and homework solutions to professors.

I began to work closely with professors from different disciplines - College Success, Communication, English, World Languages, Business, Psychology, and Sociology. I saw the amount of work and dedication they put in to ensure their students successfully retained the information.

When I was in school, I did not commit to education because I felt like professors did not care about me. Boy, was I wrong!

When I began interacting with professors on the professional level, I realized how much they cared about their students, each and every one of them.

My corporate job taught me that we do not know what we do not know. Essentially I realized I cheated myself out of education and the learning experience.

Luckily, the big guy upstairs had my back and gave me this experience to realize it on my own.

So, my most prominent advice is to fall in love with learning. Learning does not stop in school. It evolves, just like you.

What's fun about learning, is it is customizable to you. If you're a bookworm like me, there's a buffet of books out there to read for life. However, thanks to technology, you have podcasts, videos, training, step by step tutorials. So, enjoy learning and figure out the best way you learn, because learning is not one size fits all.

With knowledge, you get to create new opportunities for yourself, and that's powerful!
